Why the Glass Bridge is a must-see
This is the pure adrenaline stop. The bridge deck is transparent glass, so you look straight down 300 m to the canyon floor as you cross. On a clear day the视图 is spectacular; on a foggy day its downright surreal.
Below the bridge, the Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon is a lush gorge with waterfalls, a river and wooden walkways — a pleasant contrast to the thrill above. A bungee jump (one of the worlds highest) and a zip line let you add more altitude if you like.
Its a self-contained ticketed area separate from the Wulingyuan park, about 40 minutes from the city. Allow a half day: the bridge crossing is quick, but the canyon walk and photo queues take time.

Avoid: the bridge closes in high wind, thunder or heavy ice. Fog hides the view but adds atmosphere — your call. National Day (Oct 1–7) means very long queues.
Travel tips
Book a time slot
The bridge uses timed entry with a cap on visitors. Reserve ahead or arrive at opening.
Check wind status
The bridge closes in high wind or storms. Have a fallback plan (the canyon walk stays open).
Bring water
The canyon walk is longer than it looks. Carry at least 1 L per person.
No phones on the glass
Phones and selfie sticks are restricted on the bridge for safety — use the designated photo spots.
Pair with Tianmen
Both are near the city and thrill-focused — do them on the same day if you like heights.

City → Grand Canyon. Bus or taxi from Zhangjiajie city, about 40–60 min.
Arrive at the base. buy or show your timed ticket.
Ride up to the bridge. by the site shuttle or cable to the span.
Walk out via the canyon. to the exit and your transport.
No metro or ride-hail inside the park — the official shuttle buses are the only way between gates. Keep your passport for ticket check.
